D.7 October 2023 witnesses

Documentary film

The sexual violence highlighted in this new 60-minute documentary by Sheryl Sandberg. Perhaps most clearly highlights the sheer scale and premeditated nature of the sexual violence. It was not an isolated incident, it was a core element of the attack – a deliberate strategy of violence to maximize the impact of the attack. As hard as it is, we urge people to watch and share this harrowing testimony of those who were sexually assaulted on October 7th. (This film will be emotionally intense and is recommended for viewing by those over 18.)

Amit Soussana

Amit Soussana has become the first Israeli woman to speak publicly about the sexual assault and violence she suffered during her 55 days in captivity. Amit was abducted from her home by at least 10 men, where she was subjected to a series of horrific events. She was beaten and dragged into Gaza. The details of Soussana’s captivity paint a grim picture of her suffering; from being locked up alone and chained by her ankles to being forced to perform sexual acts at gunpoint, according to The New York Times.

Rami Davidian

Rami Davidian is a completely ordinary man. He is a farmer, most of the Kibbutzim that were attacked farm the land and many of the inhabitants were peace activists.

"It wasn't until a few days later that I realized how many boys and girls we rescued from that area. After everything was cleared up and the final records were available, we realized that our *totally ordinary* rescue mission had saved over 750 people."
